Black Confederate Daniel Winsett served as a bodyguard for General John Sappington Marmaduke and General Joseph O Shelby.  He attended every Civil War reunion and every Confederate soldiers reunion that he could make it to, and is included in a Gettysburg reunion video speaking about his service.  Daniel was a resident of the Arkansas Confederate Home for many years and died there in 1936.  Among the medals he wore in the photos, you can clearly see two that say Arkansas
