The Capital Guards

 

“Capital Guards" of Little Rock was one of the oldest militia organizations in the State. The unit played a prominent role in the seizure of the Little Rock Arsenal from federal forces 3 months before Arkansas seceded.  This was also before Lincoln taunted the firing at Fort Sumter with his illegal supply ships in sovereign Confederate waters.
